Free Initial Consultation on Bankruptcy
As my schedule permits, I am willing to talk to you without charge about your situation. If you have a lot of debt, you may feel overwhelmed. There are things in life more important than money, but it sure does take a lot of time and energy. I can explain different types of bankruptcy cases to help you decide if they may help you. I cannot give you specific advice during our first conversation, but I can explain some of your options. You may have other legal needs, or you may decide to negotiate with your creditors instead of filing bankruptcy. There is no pressure to file for bankruptcy.
Our next meeting will determine whether you qualify for bankruptcy protection. The fee for this session can be applied towards your case if you qualify and choose to file. You will need to bring all your records and statements showing all of your debts and assets. We will run calculations to determine the types of bankruptcy cases for which you may qualify.
If you qualify for bankruptcy, you will need to complete credit counseling before filing. You will later need to complete another session before the court confirms your case.
Choosing Bankruptcy
I know that choosing to file bankruptcy is a difficult decision. You may have experienced emergencies such as illness or job loss, or perhaps you made credit decisions that did not turn out well. Bankruptcy protection is designed for the honest but unfortunate debtor, and today’s economy has been difficult for a lot of hard-working people.
Bankruptcy provides a chance for a fresh start; it is not the end of the road. People who file for bankruptcy are able to get loans again in the future, something that may not be possible under a debt load that is never relieved. The process can protect your assets and provide the stability to get back on your feet.
